As a member company of the Edison Welding Institute (EWI), the leading engineering and technology advanced materials joining organization in North America, Lincoln Electric Automation’s Coldwater facility has installed one of its SpotMeld™ systems at EWI for research focused on the joining of advanced materials.
LIFT (Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow) is an industry-led, government funded consortium developing solutions to promote lightweighting feasibility across industries. Our Coldwater facility is a manufacturing partner with this organization.
The Coldwater facility is a manufacturing and collaboration partner with Ohio State University, helping to commercialize its Vaporizing Foil Actuator Welding (VFAW) technology, a new joining process which can weld dissimilar metals. Through this facility, Lincoln Electric Automation is working with Ohio State to create a manufacture-ready system for VFAW.
As a Motoman Strategic Partner, our Coldwater facility has Ascend16 Program status, which provides priority sales and technical support to the Lincoln Electric Automation team when integrating Yaskawa Motoman robots into its automation solutions.
Lincoln Electric Automation’s Coldwater facility serves as the exclusive distributor of friction welding solutions from technology partner Harms & Wende (Hamburg, Germany) including its use in our SpotMeld™ and SpinMeld™ solutions. Harms & Wende specializes in resistance and friction welding solutions with applications in the transportation and industrial sectors.
